Stability analysis of yield and yield attributing traits in advanced breeding lines of cowpea [Vigna unguiculata(L.) Walp.]

In the present investigation, 14 cowpea genotypes including four checks were evaluated for yield and attributing traits in six different locations. Pooled analysis of variance revealed that mean sum squares due to (G) environments (E) significant all characters studied which provided sound evidence validity experiments. The genotype GC 1602 had desirable stability parameters both days 50% flowering 80% maturity identified as an early maturing genotype, namely 1805, 1906, 1903 1802 found be high yielding stable seed 1805 1906 pod length number pods per plant. study can recommended commercial cultivation a wider range environments.
